Our Access to Higher Education Diploma is proving once again to be a vital stepping stone for helping learners start their journey to a rewarding career.
As the academic year ended, we spoke with a number of students who were completing their course and about their exciting next steps.
Joyce Mapfumo studied on the Social Sciences pathway and has loved her time at Bury College. In September, she will be studying at University of Salford where she will be studying Mental Health Nursing. Joyce also spoke about the amazing support that she has received from tutors: “The support from my tutors has helped improve my knowledge.”
Edward Gerrard was on the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Professions pathway and believes the course has put him on the pathway to eventually becoming a Nurse.
Baneen Ali was on the same pathway as Edward. She has aspirations of becoming a Midwife and believes the tutors at Bury College have been really helpful in helping her to develop the skills that she’ll need to eventually find that dream role.
Paris Garside also spoke about the amazing support she has received throughout her time at Bury College. Paris was on the health pathway and said: “I have developed a passion for new areas that I didn’t expect, I have really enjoyed the Psychology and Biology elements of the course.”
