Our Photography A-level is designed to stretch your creative talents and develop your technical abilities.

Intended for those looking to harness their skills or seek a career in the creative industries, this A-level provides you with the knowledge and ability to progress directly onto university or straight into industry.

Delivered by experts within their fields, our supportive tutors will work with you individually to bring out the very best of your abilities.

You will benefit from a wide range of specialist facilities including a traditional photography darkroom, state-of-the-art image editing software and creative workshop environments.

In A-level Photography you will mainly work in the area of digital photography, however you will also be able to work with traditional film and darkroom methods. Much of your photography will be taken on location, with additional access to studio facilities within the college.

You may be required to pay for certain materials such as mount boards, colour prints and basic stationary for presenting your work. You will also need a supply of basic art materials for work at college and at home. Most materials are available from the Bury College Art Department at very reasonable prices. Also, it is highly advantageous to have your own digital camera or good quality mobile phone camera to visually record your observations.
