Designed to be taken over one year, the Diploma offers you the opportunity to study a range of units from different sectors in the suite, supporting progression on to further study.  It could be a substantial vocational qualification within a study programme that includes other appropriate subjects such as English and Maths.

The course is designed around practical skills and tasks that place an emphasis on demonstrating what you can do rather than what you know in theory. The qualifications give you the opportunity to acquire and develop generic, transferable and sector-specific skills in order to complete tasks and demonstrate a level of achievement that enables progression to further learning.

Positive Futures is a set of essential qualities, embedded throughout your study programme, that we seek to develop in all students:

  • Commitment
  • Collaboration
  • Confidence
  • Resilience

You will also engage in the Positive Futures Careers Programme, developing key employability skills through a diverse range of activities including work placements, volunteering, employer talks, industry study visits and employment and university fairs.

A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 9-2 including English Language.

As a Bury College student you will have access to a wide range of enrichment opportunities which will contribute to your personal growth and development and support your academic studies.

These may include:

  • Art Club
  • Chess Club
  • Dance, Drama and Singing Workshops
  • Duke of Edinburgh Award
  • Gaming Hub
