Our specialist Hair and Media Make-up qualifications are for those who aspire to work towards becoming a professional Makeup and Hair Artist, working in a range of media make-up related industries.

We will help you develop skills and techniques to carry out professional treatments following strict industry standard health and safety requirements. The topics undertaken will develop your skills, knowledge and professional confidence to ensure that you are fully equipped to enter the world of work or progress on to higher education.

The topics studied on this course are:

• Cutting and Styling for Performers

• Avant- Garde hair and make up

• Creative make up design for productions and industry demands

• Apply Prosthetic pieces and bald caps

• Special Effects Make up

• Create, dress and fit facial postiche

• Boy Art Competition

• Camouflage Make up

• Media Make up blogging

• Wig dressing, fitting and maintenance

How you will be assessed:

• One externally set and externally marked written theory exam (160 minutes)

• One externally set, internally marked and externally moderated synoptic practical assignment (360 minutes)

• Evidence of employer Involvement

There may be a cost for a uniform, text book and kit.
