A group of our Electrical Installation students recently had a tour of a live construction site, the brand-new Bury College Health and Digital Centre.

Emma Routledge, Assistant Curriculum Manager of Electrical Installation at Bury College, said: "The tour has proven to be really beneficial for all our students. They gained a great insight from those in the industry into what goes into huge commercial projects such as this one. Huge thanks to H.H Smith for taking the time to work with us."

Lee Bodkin, site manager of H.H Smith added: “As a company, we value the importance of providing worthwhile learning opportunities for local students in the communities where we work, and it’s great to hear the students found the visit beneficial.

“On the day, the students gained first-hand experience of the robust Health and Safety measures that must be followed on a live construction site, and they were able to ask relevant course-related questions to an experienced workforce. The construction industry can provide lifelong careers for the young people of today, and these types of visits can help promote the different and varied roles that are involved in the delivery of a project of this size. It was a pleasure to meet the students, and we wish them well in their future careers in the industry.”

Our Electrical Installation courses ensure students have all the tools necessary to thrive in their future careers as qualified Electricians. Click here for more information: https://burycollege.ac.uk/courses/vocational/electrical-installation-level-3
