Our first-year Business Academy students recently got together to celebrate their achievements over the last few months.

An awards ceremony was held where students from Business Level 3 and T Level Management and Administration course enjoyed reminiscing about their first year at Bury College. Students were given prizes in several different categories including, most likely to be famous, most helpful student, best multitasker and most creative.

Over these last few months, students have undertaken a range of field trips to help develop their skills with the highlights being trips to Emirates Old Trafford and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

They have also been involved in a number of fundraising activities for local and national charities.

T Level Management and Administration student Laila Herstell, formerly of Unsworth Academy, said: "This year, I have enjoyed learning how a change in a business can affect an organisation overall, showing the short-term and long-term impacts. The course has helped me to gain knowledge on how to run a business, especially as I want to run an events management company.

“I found that finance was the most challenging subject of the year, as maths is not my strongest point, but all the teachers helped me through it, and I eventually started to enjoy this. I am very glad I chose this course as I am always supported by my great teachers."

Being part of the Bury College Business Academy will allow you to study all elements of running and managing a business whilst getting the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice through taking part in a range of fundraising and entrepreneurial events. Click here for more information.
