A former A Level student recently returned to speak with Media students about his career so far and how Bury College helped prepare him for his future.

William Hardman attended Bury College between 2014 and 2016 and studied A Levels in Film, Media Studies and History. Since leaving us, he has travelled the world working as a self-employed video technician and camera operator in the music and live events industry.

This is a role that has allowed him to work with some of the world’s biggest bands including Coldplay and the 1975. In the video below, he talks about some of these exciting adventures.

William also spoke about his time studying with us and how he developed the skills to help him thrive in a competitive industry. He said: “Studying Media and Film really helped me develop a passion and allowed me to start exploring these subjects in a deeper and more meaningful way. I wouldn’t be where I am today without that and the support from my amazing tutors.”

Caroline Gardner, William’s former tutor and Assistant Curriculum Manager for Media and Film, added: “It was fantastic to have Will visit our current students, they all really enjoyed hearing what he had to say. I am personally very proud of him. What he has achieved since leaving college has been brilliant, I hope he continues to excel in his career.”
