
Bury College recently hosted a Higher Education Fair for its current learners, welcoming representatives from over 20 different universities.
This Barbering Level 3 Diploma will provide you with a range of essential practical skills and relevant knowledge that will lead to employment or further training within the Barbering industry.
The creative skills you will develop include carrying out services such as: shampooing, conditioning, cutting men’s hair, cutting men’s facial hair, drying and finishing men’s hair and creating basic outlines in the hair.
You will be invited to take part in a range of enrichment
opportunities. This includes competitions, masterclasses with industry experts,
employer input, trips and visits to see industry-based activities, inclusion in
sporting/exercise activities, and tutorial sessions covering a range of topical
issues. You will also benefit from training in a real working
salon.

Research from the governing body of the National Hair & Beauty Federation (NHBF) said that the hair and beauty industry generated £4.56bn in turnover in 2022-2023. Our range of courses will allow you to gain the skills needed to be a success in this industry.

Many of our adult learners pay for their Level 3 and above courses with an Advanced Learner Loan. If a loan is available this is indicated in the course details. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there are no credit checks. You only need to start paying back your Advanced Learner Loan when you are earning more than £25,000 per year.

Two dedicated apprentices working in a local nursery are proving that it’s never too late to upskill, thanks to the Early Years Level 5 Apprenticeship offered at Bury College.
Our art students have brought a splash of colour and creativity to Bury Hospice with a striking new mural celebrating the spirit of the local community. Painted by students from the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, the mural features vibrant hydrangeas and iconic Manchester Bees, symbolising unity, resilience, and the six towns of Bury.
