This
is a teacher training course for nongraduates who wish to teach in the
post-compulsory sector of education. This includes: adult and community
education, further education, sixth form colleges, universities, the prison and
probation services, pre-employment training and work-based learning. Your
teaching specialism will depend on the qualifications you already have. You will
need a Level 3 qualification related to the area you wish to teach in as well as
industry experience. As part of your studies you will be required to carry out a
teaching placement that may involve daytime or evening teaching or both.
Full–time:
Classes will take place 9.30am - 4.00pm two days a week. You must be available
for up to two-three additional days for the duration of the programme for
teaching practice.
Part-time:
Classes will take place 3pm- 7.30pm one day a week. In addition you must also be
available for either one full day or two half days (subject to teaching practice
availability) for the duration of the programme for teaching practice.
