Painting and Decorating Level 2 is ideal if you have some knowledge and basic skills in Painting and Decorating - probably from a role where you work under supervision. This course will provide further recognition for your skills and give you the chance to take on more responsibility.
- Erecting and Dismantling Access Equipment and Working Platforms
- Preparing Surfaces for Decoration
- Applying Paint Systems by Brush and Roller
- Applying Foundation and Plain Papers
- Producing Specialist Decorative Finishes
- Applying and Creating Colour
You will be expected to purchase white overalls and boots for working in the practical areas. All tools are provided for use by the college.
If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2023), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees.

For Level 2 Painting and Decorating: Level 1 Painting and Decorating plus 3 GCSEs at grade 9-3 (including Maths and English Language).
