Our hands-on Plastering courses are designed to develop your skills and knowledge, enabling you to work in the industry as a trainee Plasterer.
You will have the opportunity to develop your tool and associated practical skills, and enhance your underpinning knowledge to a level demanded of a plasterer within the construction industry. You will be required to complete a range of practical projects and work experience, and develop your skills and knowledge through studying a range of subjects.
The topics studied on this course are:
- Health, safety and welfare in the construction and associated industries (unless completed at Level 1)
- Understanding information, quantities, and communication with others
- Understanding construction technology
- Applying plaster materials to internal surfaces
- Fixing dry lining and plasterboard products to interiors
- Applying render materials to external surfaces
This
programme is assessed through end of year synoptic assessments and theory based
exams. Students are provided with a scenario, for which they need to plan,
complete, and evaluate a range of practical tasks.
Future career opportunities may include:
- Plasterer
- Project Manager
- Business Owner
You
are required to purchase PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) that you must wear
in all practical sessions; this will include a hi-visibility vest, a pair of
gloves and safety goggles, all available to purchase from college at enrolment.
In addition, you will also need to purchase a pair of steel toe capped
boots.

For Level 2 Plastering: Plastering Level 1 plus 3 GCSEs at grade 9-3 (including Maths and English Language)
