Financial Support

There are various financial support mechanisms available for students who are experiencing financial difficulty whilst studying at Bury College.

These include

  • 19 + Learner Support Funds
  • 19+ Advanced Learner Loan Bursary
  • 16-19 Bursaries
  • Free College Meals
  • Support with Travel Costs for further information on concessionary travel for students in the Greater Manchester Area please see the following links https://tfgm.com/tickets-and-passes/young-people and https://ourpass.co.uk/ For those travelling from outside of Greater Manchester please speak to your local transport companies about student concessions.
  • Care to Learn (for young parents aged 16-19)
  • Bury College Scholarships - Sports and Community


Support can be used to supplement the costs of attending college, eg transport, college equipment, meals in college, books, trips, specialised kits and other course related costs.

There is also a limited amount of funding to support students aged 20+ with childcare costs.

 

Funding for Childcare

Funding for childcare is limited and runs out quickly.  Please contact Anne Holt in Student Services as soon as possible if you think you may require help form this fund.

Are you age 19 or above?

If you’re planning to study at Level 3 to 6 you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. These loans help you to pay the fees charged by approved colleges and training organisations in England.
