Bury College officially launches Hair and Beauty Centre with Plaque Unveiling event
The plaque was unveiled by Chris Trees, Chair of Governors at Bury College.
The role of the community interpreter is becoming increasingly important. The interpreter acts as a bridge between communities and enables people to access services and situations which otherwise would not be possible.
The Level 3 Certificate in Community Interpreting enables learners who already have high levels of language skills in both their first language and English, to undertake interpreting work at a basic level of two-way communication and progress to Level 4.
What topics will I study?
Most units are internally assessed through the learner building up a portfolio of evidence that covers the relevant assessment criteria, internally assessed and verified by the centre and then externally verified by the awarding body. However, there will be an external assessment of your native language and English skills. You would also be required to build up a large glossary of terms in both languages related to the work sectors you choose.

Many of our adult learners pay for their Level 3 and above courses with an Advanced Learner Loan. If a loan is available this is indicated in the course details. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there are no credit checks. You only need to start paying back your Advanced Learner Loan when you are earning more than £25,000 per year.
