This four-week course is designed to give you a basic introduction to styling hair and to build on your interest and passion for the industry.
Prepare for a career in a multi-billion-pound industry
Research from the governing body of the National Hair & Beauty Federation (NHBF) said that the hair and beauty industry generated £4.56bn in turnover in 2022-2023. Our range of courses will allow you to gain the skills needed to be a success in this industry.
Study in our new state-of-the-art Hair and Beauty Centre
The ground floor of this new building is home to a 12-bed Media Make-up and special effects studio, a commercial 24-station hair salon and a 24-station make-up studio.
The first floor comprises of a 12-bed Nail Clinic, two 12-bed beauty clinics and a 24-station hair salon. On the third floor, learners are now benefitting from two 24-station hair and barbering salons and both IT and general teaching space to support the specialist facilities.
· Unit 101 Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector
· Unit 102 Presenting a Professional Image in a Salon
· Unit 003 Shampooing and Conditioning
· Unit 104 Styling Men’s Hair
Students will complete initial assessment before enrolling to assess suitability. Students should complete L1 intro into Hair & Beauty before starting the course or complete alongside.
Some courses are free for eligible learners, this is shown in the course details. You may be eligible for a free course if you are:
- Unemployed and in receipt of an income-based benefit (for example JSA, ESA or Universal Credit)
- Employed and earning less than the low-income threshold
- Studying for your first full Level 2 qualification on an eligible legal entitlement course
- Aged 19-23 and studying for your first full Level 3 qualification or on an eligible legal entitlement course
- Your eligibility for a free course will be assessed and confirmed at enrolment.

ADVANCED LEARNER LOAN
Many of our adult learners pay for their Level 3 and above courses with an Advanced Learner Loan. If a loan is available this is indicated in the course details. It’s easy to apply, your household income isn’t taken into account and there are no credit checks. You only need to start paying back your Advanced Learner Loan when you are earning more than £25,000 per year.
