Jo Cullen, Programme Lead for Sport and Exercise Science HNC
Jo has seven years of experience in teaching both further and higher education and specialises in Sports Psychology. She works closely with the League Football Education programme to support player development and the transition into professional football. She also works closely with elite athletes to support the academic development from FE to transitioning to HE. Her qualifications include a 1st class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science and Coaching, and PGDE.

Modules and course details
We have designed the course to ensure you will have the opportunity to secure the desired skills, experiences and qualities required by health and fitness employers. We work with you to develop the skills future employers are looking for.
You will work with a range of different groups, including children and people with disabilities, which will help to enhance your employability skills.

How you will be assessed
As part of the course, you will be assessed through numerous ways that include:
- Essays
- Projects
- Lab reports
- Critical analysis of papers
- Poster presentations
- Oral presentations
- Delivering practical workshop sessions
- Independent research
All is facilitated through workplace practical scenarios.
All assessments are graded as a pass, merit, or distinctions, with distinction as the highest level of achievement.

Additional Qualifications
Learners will have the opportunity to complete a Level 2 Gym Instructors course
During the course you will also have the opportunity to complete a Level 3 Personal training qualification.
Both these qualifications include REPS accreditation (register of exercise professionals). This is a valuable qualification recognised by industry professionals all over the world.
